TAMARIND
- Description: Fruit used medicinally and as a condiment. The containers may be subject to a natural staining from the contents. Salt water damage may render the fruit totally unfit for human consumption, but it may be utilized in the manufacture of dyes. Subject to natural loss in weight due to drying out. In India tamarind is mixed with salt and the preparation used to preserve fish. Care should therefore be exercised when testing for seawater damage.
