- Description: Defects in dyeing and manufacture may occasionally be mistaken for water stains or leakage from other cargo. In all cases of damage by seawater, immediate cleaning is essential. If proper facilities are not available, the material should be thoroughly washed in fresh, cold water. See COTTONS, WOOL, and also TEXTILES. See also IMDG Code & US CFR.
