CAUSTIC POTASH (Potassium Hydroxide)
- Description: Generally packed in iron drums. On exposure, it soon starts to deliquesce due to absorption of water and carbon dioxide from the air. In extreme cases, the remaining contents may be found to have become a semi-liquid, coffee-colored sludge of no commercial or practical value. In the majority of cases, it will only be found to be slightly discolored and deliquescing. See also IMDG Code & US CFR.
