- Description: BARK FOR QUININE EXTRACTS - Water damage, while reducing the value of the bark due to loss of alkaloid, does not render it unusable for quinine extracts. In the case of other varieties used in the distillery trade or for the manufacture of cinchona extract or for druggists' purposes, water damage may render the bark unsuitable.
