ARGOL (Argil)
- Description: An impure form of bitartrate of potash found as a crust in wine casks. It is used in the preparation of tartaric acid and cream of tartar, and sometimes for dyeing purposes. Argot which has been damaged by moisture may be found to have lost part of its tartaric acid content.
