2020 Marine Insurance Day Seminar

Friday 02 October 2020, 10:45am - 04:30pm

The Marine Insurance Day Seminar is a collaborative effort of the American Institute of Marine Underwriters (AIMU), American Marine Insurance Forum (AMIF), Association of Average Adjusters of the U.S. and Canada, Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA), and Marine and Insurance Claims Association (MICA). It is through our joint efforts that we can provide high quality educational program each October. This is the fourteenth annual Marine Insurance Day Seminar that will deliver the knowledge-rich seminar experience that has supported learning and development in our industry for over 100 years.

Due to the clear impossibility of running a major in-person event in NYC due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we will present an exciting virtual event, live streaming presentations from more than ten industry experts.  Interactive features (polls and chats) will be used to allow attendees ask questions in real time.  We will also offer trivia questions, with prizes, during breaks and hope for your active participation.

REGISTRATION FEE: $75 members/$150 non-members. Fee includes CE credits and a program.

Approved for 5 CE credits in TX;
Pending approvals in NY and NJ;

Cyber Insurance
Much of the cyber security standards and guidance point to traditional IT controls without regard for what happens on a ship. Large fleet owners have the advantage of an economy of scale. But what about small fleets where cyber security may be an economic sacrifice? Mr. DeWitt will simplify the connection between cyber security and safety from a practical risk standpoint and the current industry approach to cyber security as well as decompose the recent IMO MSC.428(98). resolution.
