American Marine Claims Award

Are you a Marine Claims professional living in the U.S. or Canada that would like to enhance your professional development and be recognized for your achievements? If yes, then this is your opportunity! Once a year we accept applications for the American Marine Claims Award, which includes $3,000 to cover travel and expenses to attend the International Cargo Insurance Conference in England.
This award is co-sponsored by the following participating associations: American Institute of Marine Underwriters, Association of Average Adjusters of the U.S. and Canada, Inland Marine Underwriters Association, International Cargo Insurance Conference, Marine Insurance and Claims Association.

Annual IUMI Conference Bursary Award
The award will cover the IUMI 2026 Rotterdam Conference registration fee as well as airfare and hotel accommodation during the conference (5 nights max). The 2026 conference will take place in Rotterdam from September 20-23, 2026.
Harold Jackson Scholarship

Harold Jackson, former President of William H. McGee, served as Chairman of AIMU from 1946-48. Following his passing in 1983, he left a generous bequest to create a scholarship in his name to study Marine insurance in England. AIMU thereby created the Harold Jackson Scholarship in 1986, initially administered by AIMU and The College of Insurance and now administered by the AIMU and Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science at St. John’s University. Since its inception, scholarship winners have been announced every summer following a competitive application process. To date, more than 37 insurance professionals have traveled to England to study marine insurance thanks to the generosity of the late Harold Jackson. |
